When my husband surprised me with my Cas Iberia, I was ecstatic! I was so happy to get the then unique and illusive sword. I absolutely love my Cas and have enjoyed learning how to effectively use this weapon.
However, I'm now noticing that they are everywhere! Everyone wants or has a Cas. The sword seems to becoming ordinary. I'm finding that they are now so common, they are losing a bit of that specialness or luster. Of course, the sword alone doesn't make a great dancer. It's still true that even the most beautiful sword in mediocre hands will make a boring performance.
Still, I wanted to pose the question and get some opinions on other sword out there might take the Cas' place as the must have sword.

Sun, May 18, 2008 - 9:54 AMEveryone around here has the Moorish (a sword I'm not particularly fond of personally for various reasons). The Cas is still only used by a few of us locally. A few girls here have switched to the Balady, too. -

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 2:09 PMThe CAS and the Balady are pretty much the same sword, the Balady is smaller (see the pictures section for a side-by-side).
I noticed the number of people who have the CAS/Balady swords around here. I did a sword workshop with Hipnosis and I was the only one (who had a sword) who did not have one.
I briefly despaired that I didn't "match" but then decided that I don't have to "match" this is a sword for ME! It's the same as the one Danielle uses and I bought it from Fire by Riz (pic www.firewhip.com/click-swo...nced.jpg). -

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 4:58 PMI have the same one as Atalanta, and it seems pretty common around here. I also have the Cobra sword that Dhalal no longer seems to sell (you can kind of see it in the picture section of this tribe, under Burning Man Magique Bazaar).
