I am planning on doing a double sword dance in a few weeks, but when I went to order another balady sword from kult of athena they were back ordered which sucks.
My dilemma is this.
I am planning on ordering the Cas Iberia sword but everyone is saying that its a lot heavier than the balady sword.
How much heavier is my question.
I am not worried about the balance on my head, I am more concerned about swinging my arms. Is it so heavy that lifting it with one arm is impossible??

Re: Sword(id) Weight??
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 9:53 PMThe weight is pretty much the same 2.9 lb versus 3.0 lb. The only difference (really) is that the Cas Iberia is battle ready. -

Re: Sword(id) Weight??
Fri, April 4, 2008 - 10:04 AMOk I posted a longish reply but it got removed...tribe thing, perhaps, or did I offend?
The Cas is heavier than the Baladi but can be manipulated one-handed. I do it all the time. I do think the difference is more than .1 lb, isn't it?
The other big thing, though is that the Cas Iberia is longer, and the balance point for the Cas is very close to the hilt, so you have a huge amount of blade to one side when you balance.
Also, I recommend that you get your 2 swords and practice with both of them together...a lot...before you attempt to perform with them. Two swords can play games with you, even if you are very experienced with one sword.
