How does one mount larger swords onto the wall. Right now I have 4 swords that are just laying around my apartment. I would like to be able to display them ...because if they are staring at me while I'm on the computer, I might be inclined to take one of them down for practice. These are Kult of Athena (2) Balady Scimitars and (2) Moorish scimitars. Is it possible to have wall mounts for them...or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: Mounting Swords
Fri, November 23, 2007 - 4:33 PMThey sell racks for swords. Our local malls have knife and sword stores that sell them, and of course a ton of online stores have them, too. See for example Chivalry Sports: www.renstore.com/items.asp
I gotta get one, too. My husband doesn't want them displayed but I can't stand them being stuck in the closet, and I would like to get them off the floor and out of reach of my 4-year-old and her friends!

Sun, November 25, 2007 - 5:38 AMI used cup hooks screwed into wallboard anchors. I covered the curved part of the cuphooks with clear plastic tubing to prevent scratching my swords. There's a picture in my photos. -

One note on hanging the swords. If you are hanging them at any degree of an angle, mount them blade up so that the mounts don't dent them. My hubby hung mine blade down, and now I have a small divet in the blade.
